NGC’s Valley of the Boom + WeWork
The show was about the people who built the internet in the '90s. The audience most likely to care were the people building the next version of it today. That's not a demographic, that's a location. Startup culture lives in coworking spaces. So we went there.
We partnered with WeWork and transformed marquee locations into nostalgic '90s internet cafes outfitted with iconic arcade games, board games, trivia, a socially activated vending machines, all branded in Valley of the Boom. The environment was a time machine that put today's founders inside the world of yesterday's pioneers.
Then, just before the network premiere, we came back with series premiere screenings at flagship WeWork locations, followed by talk-back panels with internet luminaries and actors from the show. The audience didn't just watch a series about the dotcom era, they were in conversation with the people who lived it.
